Name of the restaurant don’t give us any clue of what kind of restaurant it is. It says their special menu is yangji mulhae but it was very strange because yangji is beef and mulhae is kind of like a raw fish. How can you make a raw food out of a beef? I was very curious to know what the food was like.
There was a story on how they created the menu. When the owners wife was pregnant, she wanted to eat mulhwae. Usually she couldn’t eat mulhwae because of its smell. So the husband wanted to make her mulhwae that doesn’t smell so fishy. So he created a new recipe called yangji mulhwae. It was the power of love.
Aside from yangji mulhwae, there are hanwoogukbap, ssalguksoo, yangji boiled beef and galbijjim but yangji mulhwae is the most popular menu here. With ice and various vegetables, and red sauce, it looks just like normal mulhwae but it was really interesting to see how they use yangji instead of raw fish. If you ever want to try raw fish and yangji at the same time, I suggest you to visit and try at Donbangseok.
